Henry Ford Health has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it improperly shared sensitive patient data through its MyChart platform with third-party companies, including Google and Facebook. The lawsuit claims this data transfer happened without patients’ knowledge or consent, potentially violating federal and state healthcare privacy laws.
The Michigan-based healthcare network, which operates hundreds of facilities and serves millions of patients, did not admit to any wrongdoing but chose to settle the case to avoid further litigation.
What Settlement Class Members Can Receive
Eligible class members may receive the following:

$15 Cash Payment:
Class members who file valid claims will receive a one-time $15 payment as compensation for the alleged data sharing. -
Privacy Shield Pro Enrollment:
In addition to the cash payment, class members will receive a redemption code to enroll in the Privacy Shield Pro service. This product offers enhanced digital privacy tools and identity protection features.
To claim your benefits, you must submit a claim form by Aug. 25, 2025.
